Here is the newest addition to our family.

Tonight we will be experiencing a blue moon here in the States. Here is a photo I took last night (with a blue filter to fake it).

I have started my coursework with the NY Institute of Photography. The first project required that I use some old fashioned methods of capturing speed, using selective focus, and using hyperfocal distance.

Here is what I came up with this week to apply the principles.

So we never made it over to Fire Island. We had a couple of friends come out to our place and join us for a shopping spree at the Riverhead Outlets.

Banana Republic had an amazing sale which Michael and I promptly took advantage of.

I recently tried out using Adobe Lightroom. It is a wonderful piece of software that allows you to import photos, “develop” them, and then share them via print or the web. It has a wonderful method for managing photos based on a pretty quick database system. The challenge for me now is that I have thousands upon thousands of photos in various locations. I need to find them all, figue out how to import them and assign them to appropriate categories.

This could definitely be a full time job.
