In the business world it is very easy to lose your focus. There are numerous forces pulling you in lots of directions. We spend time according to those items that will pay off in the end.

I think what we often forget, however, that it is that the relationships and people we develop them with which should take the greatest amount of our time and effort. People are our greatest assets and not the product or materials we create. I find that when I have developed and nurtured the relationships in my life, everything else falls into place.

Work has been keeping me incredibly busy over the last several weeks. It seems that it has completely consumed my life. I have been especially struggling with not taking everything to heart and attempting to please everyone. I am learning that I cannot do either of these things if I am to continue being succesful in my career.

So how is it that I maintain a certain level of quantity and quality in my work with increasing demands, without letting it own me? How do I care about the people I work with and the common goals we have without taking things so personal? These are questions I am trying to answer and respond to these days.
