Ego

The Ego comprises that organized part of the personality structure which includes defensive, perceptual, intellectual-cognitive, and executive functions. Conscious awareness resides in the ego, although not all of the operations of the ego are conscious.

I am becoming aware how prominent my ego plays a role in my thoughts, actions, and words. I believe that it clouds my sense of truth and reality. I never realized, for instance, how defensive a person I am sometimes below the surface. Although I try to put up a strong “reasonable and balanced” front, my ego is still strong with me (says my Yoda voice).

What do I do to try and limit my ego’s unnecessary functions? I think letting my super-ego have more time behind the wheel is one thing. I also think that further simplification of my life is another component which includes placing myself on the backside of the stage, rather than directly in the spotlight - while I quietly support those now taking lead.

A New Beginning

This is the moment of embarking.
All auspicious signs are in place.

Spiritual Awakening
Starting anew is something that I feel can be done in various time intervals. I start anew each morning with my becoming aware of both form and space…trying to bring them both into harmony with one another. In order to start anew, despite the time element, we must make a choice to do so. We must be aware of our inner selves and come to label the elements that are disrupting our being in touch with them. Once the choice is made, the mountains will move for us to stay committed to our decision. Today I choose to commit to a practice of alignment of space and form until death. I commit to my spiritual awakening minus the ego. Who will join me?  Who will support me?
